At the moment of what I know there are five. Fresh Water - River - Ocean - Coast Line (Seashore) - Ocean Shallow Fishing.
What does this mean. This means you will need to make sure that the location where you are fishing you have the right bait or lure. If you do not have the right bait or lure you will end up 16 Hours Of Nothing.

Making Life Easy
Ok fishing is very easy. First thing is first. Know the area you are in. From there you will find out what type of fishing you will start on.

Making Life Even Better
We are ready to fish. We know the area we are in. We have the right bait or lure for the area we are in. We know the fish we want to catch (Moogbox).
To start I like to to choose a fish that has a mode (math term; a number that occurs the most) = that shares the same sweetspot with other types of fish.
What does this do? Gives you a better chance to always catch a fish.
Casting
I found the fish I want. The mode of sweetspot occurs the most for that fish and other types.
A window pops up - Choose the sweet-spot then choose wait command.
Cast out line - Nibble……… If you get nibble you should wait for the fish to bite. Choose wait until you get a bite. If not recast. (Sometimes you can get lucky and not wait for a bite after you see nibble. Very random though.)
Cast out line - BITE - I now have the chance to to pick the strike zone. There are four. Mooglebox gathering tool shows a great picture of the strike zones for the fish.
Cast out line - BITE - Now you have a high chance to choose which strike zone.
Also I must note. The strike zone are very precise. So make sure when you choose you are either on the 1 - 2 - 3 - 4. Nothing off or you will miss out on the fish. And the fish are usually on the 1 - 2 -3 -4.
Messages
From here you will understand what happens when you have a bite.
Cast - Bite - You've hooked something but cannot reel it in - There is nothing in that strike zone. Move to the next one.
Cast - Bite - The Fish is taking line - Still nothing in that strike zone. Move to the next one.
Cast - Bite - The fish is tired, but you cannot yet reel it in. Go back to the same exact strike zone. Will catch your fish if you do.
Cast - Bite - You reel in your catch. OH MY GOD!!!!!! A FISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok what we just did was use the mode of the sweet-spot for a fish. Then from there since we were using the mode of a sweet-spot we checked each strike zone for the fish in that sweet-spot.
Notes
Always make sure to use mooglebox gathering tool this will tell you sweet-spot - strike zone and etc.
Always make sure you use the right bait or lure. Always keep your gear up to date.
Always make sure you have your bait or lure equipped.
Here is a person who is working on a project that shows what fish will always bite on a certain type of bait and lure.
